At first, he isn't sure if his fiery steed, Soot, will get along with a dog -- especially an icy one. But Frostbite's friendly, playful nature soon melts Soot's heart. Now all three love to charge off together in search of high-flying adventures. |

| 47 - Dawnstar Castle Dawnstar Castle, home of Herd Starlight, stands on top of the Daybreak Mountains. Its five main towers form a star around the tallest central tower, and each tower has a giant jewel floating over it. These Dawnstar Jewels gather starlight and focus it into powerful beams of magic. Emma uses them to call Herd Starlight and bring this lost herd home. |
48 - Festival Treats For Winter Festival, the Valkyries travel all over North of North bringing treats to every child in the land. Mother Comfort and her citrustack friends work for months to make enough sweets for everyone. And the Valkyries always know which treat each child likes best. This year Tyri and her steed, Seraphia, invite the Starstone Otter to come and help them. |

| 49 - Friska's Story Emma can't wait to write in her Ballad journal about her new purrwing friend, Friska. Friska followed Emma and her friends all the way to the Daybreak Mountains when they were looking for the lost Herd Starlight. Then Friska helped Emma figure out how to find the lost herd. Emma loves having a magical friend clever and brave enough to share her adventures. |
50 - Skating Lesson Deru has always like watching Canter Hollow folks skate. When she tried it herself, it was a lot harder than it looked! But she kept practicing, and now she can do all sorts of fancy spins and jumps. She even taught her pipsqueak friends to skate with her. Deru's steed, Twig, comes along to please her, but Twig hasn't got the hang of skating yet. |

| 51 - Sleigh Ride One of Emma's favorite Winter Festival traditions is to take a sleigh ride around Trails End to look at all the lights and decorations. Cade Traveler, the stable master, offers to take her out with his team, Zabarius and Shenandoah. Sara, Deru, and Colm come along -- and so does Colm's magical friend Frostbite, who insists on running the whole way! |
52 - Stargazing Cassiopeia comes from a family of Starkeepers, human friends of Herd Starlight. Recently she was given their greatest treasure: a magic map that shows all the stars exactly as they are overhead, no matter where you are or what time it is. With her steed, Eclipse, and her sun cat, Zenith, Cassie uses the Starmap to help Emma find Herd Starlight. |

| 53 - Starlight Returns From her hiding place among the stars, the herd patron Starlight sees Emma's signal and returns to Dawnstar Castle. When Emma gives her back her magical Starstone pendant, she rears with joy and immediately calls Herd Starlight home. Emma and her purrwing friend, Friska, watch in wonder as the last of the lost herds returns to North of North. |
54 - Three Sisters Long ago, the sisters Moonfairy, Sunflower, and Starlight made a vow. They promised to give up their magical herd pendants and take their great herds into hiding until a new Valkyrie came to protect them from the Wolf Riders. Now that Emma has found their lost herds and returned their magic pendants, the sisters can be together again at last. |

| 55 - Wolves of Styginmoor Ivenna the Wolf Rider lives with her pack in a castle called Styginmoor. Her mounta, Myrfor, is the sone of the terrible First Wolf, Fenrir. Myrfor rules the pack with harsh ferocity, and even Ivenna is a little bit afraid of him sometimes. The other wolves would follow Myrfor anywhere -- even down the Shadow Path, a haunted road made of dark magic. |
